Star of the Week-Michael

Hi, my name is Michael. I was born in Sacramento. Now I live in West Sacramento. I live with my daddy and papa and Daphney, Daisy, and Penny. They are my dogs. I adopted Penny this summer. I have three cousins and their names are Caden, Jordan, and Weslyn. I like to play on the trampoline and play Lego Marvel with them. We also go to the Sacramento Republic games together.

I love pizza, doughnuts, and Power Rangers. I also really love Star Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Droid Tales. My favorite places to visit are the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Disneyland, and Hawaii. I like playing baseball, soccer, rock climbing, skateboarding, and basketball as well.

This summer I went to Disneyland for the 60th Anniversary and for my second time. I went on Star Tours, swam at the Disneyland Hotel and went on the big slide, and fought Lord Vader at the Jedi Training Academy. You can watch the movie below.

Also this summer I went to sports camp, baseball camp at Sac State, and CUE Rockstar Truckee. I showed Mrs. Torres, Mrs. Evans, and Miss Steinlein how to use robots, Spheros, and drones. I hope we use them this year.

Thank you for reading my blog post,

  1. I am very proud of Michael being Star of the Week! He really enjoys his friends and classmates at Star Academy and is always excited to go to school. He is also very lucky to have Mrs. Torres as his 2nd Grade teacher.

  2. Congratulations on being star student. You had an amazing summer. I am a teacher in Sacramento, and I have four kids. My older two daughters are into robotics too. I hope you join a FIRST Lego league team so we can see you at competitions.

  3. Michael,

It sounds like you had an amazing summer! Do you think I'm too old to get picked to fight Lord Vader? You looked like a better Jedi than I could be.
Disneyland is one of my favorite places anyway.

Sorry I missed you at teacher camp this summer. I wanted to be there but couldn't work it into my schedule. Hope to see you there next year!

I hope you'll come by my room someday soon and show me pictures of Penny!

  4. It sounds like you had a very busy summer, Michael! Your favorite places to visit are also MY favorite places to visit. I missed CUE Rockstar Truckee this year because I had a baby in April - I would have loved to have learned how to use robots from you! Maybe next year :)

  5. Wow, Michael! I really enjoyed reading this. Not only did I learn a lot about the things you love to do and about your family, but you made it fun to read by doing such a good job with your word choice and including great details. I have never been to Hawaii, but Cameron and I are going to go in February, so we are very excited. I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was -- wait for it -- 42 years old! I had a lot of fun. Next time I go, I will have to ask you and your Daddy and Papa for advice on the rides and stuff, since you guys are experts. I would be afraid to fight Darth Vader, but you looked so confident in that video. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though, since when I met you this past summer, you were REALLY good with a light saber. I hope you're enjoying second grade so far. Cameron starts middle school next week, and he's looking forward to it.

  6. My your star be as bright as your smile!! You are a joy to all! Congratulations on your award!

  7. Great blog post Michael. I am glad to see you getting offf to a good start in 2nd grade.

  8. Michael - Wow! Sounds like you had an amazing summer. I love pizza too. What kind is your favorite? I bet you can't wait for the new Star Wars land to open at Disneyland. Who is more excited about that - you or your dad? :-)

  9. Michael - I loved being your scribe for this blog post. It is amazing how much you have grown this year. I'm so happy you enjoyed Disneyland and sports camp. We love you lots and lots!

  10. cool Michael! my dad loves star wars too! I also like pizza and doughnuts. cool video. what's your favorite star wars movie?

  11. Cool, Michael! I like your video. I fought Darth Maul two times at Jedi Academy. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? And, do you prefer Clone Wars or Star Wars? I also like pizza and doughnuts just like you!
