Star of the Week-Matthew

Dear Class,

I love to go to Monterey with my friends. My favorite thing to do there is go to the beach. I like to play in the waves with my friends and my brother. When the waves are small me, my friends and my brother stay in the waves. When the waves are big we run away!

I also like to go to river cats games with my friends.

This summer I went to Seattle and Vancouver with my parents, my brother and my grandparents.  I went to Seattle for four nights and I went to Vancouver for two nights.  First I went to the airport and went on a two hour airplane flight. When we landed in Seattle it was lunch time. After we ate lunch we went to our hotel and got a room on the tenth floor.The next day we went to the Space Needle.  It is six hundred and five feet tall.      

A couple of days later I went to the Mariners game but I was cheering for the Tigers. The Tigers won 5 to 4. I got ice cream and pizza!

In Vancouver there is an Orca whale that is made out of blocks.

I loved going on my trip to Seattle and Vancouver!!!

Star of the Week-Michael

Hi, my name is Michael. I was born in Sacramento. Now I live in West Sacramento. I live with my daddy and papa and Daphney, Daisy, and Penny. They are my dogs. I adopted Penny this summer. I have three cousins and their names are Caden, Jordan, and Weslyn. I like to play on the trampoline and play Lego Marvel with them. We also go to the Sacramento Republic games together.

I love pizza, doughnuts, and Power Rangers. I also really love Star Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Droid Tales. My favorite places to visit are the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Disneyland, and Hawaii. I like playing baseball, soccer, rock climbing, skateboarding, and basketball as well.

This summer I went to Disneyland for the 60th Anniversary and for my second time. I went on Star Tours, swam at the Disneyland Hotel and went on the big slide, and fought Lord Vader at the Jedi Training Academy. You can watch the movie below.

Also this summer I went to sports camp, baseball camp at Sac State, and CUE Rockstar Truckee. I showed Mrs. Torres, Mrs. Evans, and Miss Steinlein how to use robots, Spheros, and drones. I hope we use them this year.

First Day of Second Grade 2015-2016

Today was such a wonderful day! Everyone showed up and looked so cute with their new school uniforms, new backpacks and new hairstyles. I got plenty of hugs and fist-bumps and some compliments too :). I'm looking forward to another day where my second graders shine bright!

Welcome to Second Grade!

It was wonderful meeting so many of you this morning for "Meet the Teacher". I'm very excited for this school year to start. In case you missed this morning, below are a few pictures of your new classroom for the 2015-2016 school year!
